What soft washing means for a roof
Soft washing uses a suitable cleaning treatment applied at low pressure to tackle organic growth. It is different from steam cleaning: steam uses heated water, while a soft wash relies on the selected treatment. Either may be part of an agreed roof clean, but they are not interchangeable names for the same process. Heavy moss may need careful removal before a treatment is applied.

We leave the work area tidy and explain what was done. If a treatment is appropriate, we set realistic expectations because shade, moisture and trees affect regrowth.
When a soft wash approach may help
Roofs can collect algae, lichen, moss and dark organic staining. Soft washing can form part of the answer when the surface needs a controlled method rather than aggressive force. It may follow manual moss removal, or be combined with steam depending on the tiles and the condition of the roof.
